94 premiery płytowe stycznia
Nowy rok wypada zacząć od spóźnionego o kilka dni przeglądu premier. To jeszcze jeden z tych miesięcy, kiedy wydaje się, że wszystko da się ogarnąć, ale już są niespodzianki. Nie należy do nich zapowiadana już płyta Every Loser (Goldtooth/Atlantic), którą nagrał i pojutrze opublikuje Iggy Pop. Gwiazdorski zespół muzyków znanych z Red Hot Chili Peppers, Guns N’Roses, Jane’s Addiction czy Foo Fighters (tak, gra tu zmarły w zeszłym roku perkusista Taylor Hawkins), produkcja pod okiem Andrew Watta – łatwo to sobie zsumować do pewniaka, solidnego rockowego albumu. Są na nim, jak zresztą zwiastuje Frenzy, przebłyski punkowej krzykliwości, biorąc pod uwagę metrykę (Pop ma 75 lat i jest, co oczywiste, przedskoczkiem w dziedzinie punkowych weteranów) choć są też momenty, gdzie Pop uprawia rodzaj rock’n’rollowego chodzonego i podąża w niemal Cohenowskie mruczanda. Rzecz będzie się podobać. Jest z pewnością najbardziej bezpieczną spośród podejmowanych w ostatnich latach próbą monetyzacji tego bohatera (a przy okazji – zapewne niezłą wizytówką wspólnych koncertów z RHChP), generalnie udaną, choć artystycznie nie tak przekonującą jak Post Pop Depression i nie tak klimatyczną jak Free. Będzie grana w radiu, kilka singli da się tu jeszcze wykroić, a rozpoczynanie roku od nowego albumu tego artysty nie wydaje się najgorszym z możliwych pomysłów. Jakkolwiek bezpieczeństwo nie było dotąd tym, z czym kojarzyło się Popa w pierwszej kolejności.
